Welcome

Welcome to Your Randwick Electrical Team

This end of the eastern suburbs runs on racing, hospitals and a university. The wiring under it is just as mixed, and we work on all of it.

The team here is local and small enough to know your street. Not a call centre.

Every job runs under NSW electrical contractor licence #452529C, and we are a Master Electricians Australia member. The price is agreed before any work starts.

More on who turns up and how a job runs.

What we do

The Electrical Services We Handle Across Randwick

Six services, and they cover nearly every call that reaches us. All of it priced in writing up front and wired to AS/NZS 3000.

If what you need is not on this list, ask anyway.

When You Need an Emergency Electrician

Not everything electrical is urgent. Everything below is.

  • Burning smell coming off a socket, a light switch or the board
  • Sparks or a bang when something gets plugged in
  • A safety switch you cannot keep switched back on
  • Scorch marks or brown discolouring around a socket
  • A switchboard that is warm to touch or humming
  • Water coming through a light fitting

Turn it off at the switchboard and leave it off. Then ring (02) 9134 9026, and a licensed electrician will triage it with you on the spot.

If the whole street is dark, that one belongs to Ausgrid and you wait it out. The moment it is inside your switchboard it is ours, and urgent call-outs run day and night.

Local knowledge

What Randwick Homes Need from Their Local Electrician

The housing here arrived in three waves. Victorian and Federation cottages before 1940, big walk-up brick flats through the 1960s and 70s, and infill apartments from the 2000s on.

Home units were not built here at all until the 1960s. That one fact tells you plenty: the flats are newer than the cottages, but nobody would call them new.

What the older stock shares is a gap. A lot of it predates the rules on safety switches (RCDs), so whole circuits still run without one behind boards that look perfectly innocent.

You find out the hard way. A fitting fails, and nothing at the board moves to stop it.

The fix usually ends at the board itself, which puts protection on every circuit and labels what each one feeds.

Semi-detached homes make up much of the rest. A party wall is one less place to run a cable, so we look before we price.

Heritage Homes, Double Brick and Cable Runs

The grand old homes near The Spot are solid double brick. That one detail changes almost every quote we write.

Solid brick has no cavity, so there is nowhere for a cable to fall. A new circuit means surface conduit, a chased wall, or a much longer route around.

None of that is a problem, it is just time. Time is what we price, so it lands in the quote instead of on the invoice.

We walk the run with you beforehand and show you where the cable comes out.

Unit Blocks, Strata and Shared Walls

Most homes here are units, and the newest of them went up for UNSW students and hospital staff. Density changes the job in three ways.

  • The boundary matters. Work inside your unit is yours. The riser, the meter room and the common lighting usually sit with the owners corporation.
  • Access needs planning. Someone has to unlock the meter room, and killing a common circuit is something the whole floor notices.
  • Paperwork travels. Owner, agent and strata manager all want the same quote and certificate, so we write it once and send it three ways.

Whoever holds the keys, whoever pays the bill. Same job either way.

Why So Many Locals Choose Us

This suburb skews young, and more of its homes are rented than owned. So the person paying is often not the person standing in the kitchen while we work.

That shapes how we do things. A clear price on paper, a tidy job, and paperwork that stands up for whoever was not there.

We Get There Quickly

Bookings are often same or next day, and a genuine emergency gets someone at any hour. You get told when, and you get a call if that slips.

The Guarantee Does Not Run Out

Our work carries a lifetime workmanship guarantee. If something we installed fails, we come back and fix it at no cost, and the gear carries a 12-month product warranty as well.

Quotes Cost You Nothing

We come out, look properly, and put it in writing. No call-out fee for that, and $50 off your first service once you decide to go ahead.

More Than 600 Homeowners Rated Us Five Stars

That is a real Google rating, not a badge we printed. Across 600+ five-star reviews the same two things keep coming up: we turn up when we say, and the price we quote is the price you pay.

How we compare

Comparing Your Electrician Options in Randwick

Plenty of sparkies work this end of Sydney. What sorts them out is boring: what a quote actually covers, how long the guarantee lasts, and who picks up when you ring.

How we work

How We Work on Every Job

One power point or an entire board, the four steps do not change. We don't charge by the hour, so the price lands in the quote and stops moving.

  1. 01

Tell Us What It Is Doing

Ring and describe it: what tripped, what smells, what stopped. The office locks in a time and reminds you the day before.

  2. 02

We Look, Then We Price It

We come out, open things up, and quote on the spot. Options run budget to premium, both explained properly, nobody pushing you up the list.

  3. 03

    Done Tidy, Done Once

Drop sheets down and the place left tidy. We fit Clipsal and Hager switchgear, not cheap imports, and every circuit gets a label that still makes sense in ten years.

  4. 04

    Tested, Certified, Handed Back

Everything is tested before we sign off. You get a Certificate of Compliance for the notifiable electrical work, photos of what changed, and a board that makes sense.

Licensed, insured & guaranteed

Compliant Work That Keeps Your Home Safe

Electrical work is not the place to save fifty dollars. DIY electrical work is illegal in NSW, and an unlicensed job can void an insurance claim or stop a sale dead at the inspection.

Licensed, and You Can Check It

Licence #452529C goes on every quote and every certificate. If someone will not show you theirs, you already have your answer.

Wired to AS/NZS 3000

Nobody picks and chooses out of the wiring rules. Every circuit we open goes back in to standard, protected properly and labelled to match.

Insured, Both Ways

Public liability covers your house. Workers compensation covers whoever is up the ladder in it, and both are current.

The Paperwork You Actually Need

Notifiable electrical work gets lodged with NSW Fair Trading, and the certificate comes to you by email. Keep it: insurers and buyers ask for it years later.

This is our home turf, and Randwick City Council is the council we work under here. Each suburb below has its own page with the detail that actually applies there.

Common questions

Your Questions, Answered

Short answers below. Anything missing is probably on the FAQ page.

Do you do small jobs like a single power point?

Yes. One power point, one dead light or one switch that gave up gets the same written quote and the same testing as a full rewire.

Is there an electrician near Randwick open on weekends?

Normal bookings run 7am to 5pm on weekdays. A genuine emergency is different: someone is on call around the clock, including weekends, and the phone gets picked up by a sparkie who can triage it.

What suburbs do you service around Randwick?

Coogee, Kensington, Clovelly, Kingsford, Maroubra and Bronte, and each one has a page of its own above. If your street sits just outside that list, ring us and we will tell you straight.

Do you charge a call-out fee in Randwick?

No, and not in Coogee or Kingsford either. We come out, look at the job, and the quote costs you nothing whether you go ahead with us or not.

What electrical services do you offer?

Switchboards, lighting, EV chargers, Level 2 work, emergencies and general residential jobs. Data and comms as well: Cat6, fibre, NBN, TV points, all handed over with certified test results.

How does your pricing work?

A fixed written quote lands before anything starts, with the labour, the materials, GST and the testing all inside it. We don't charge by the hour, so a job that drags is our problem.
